The highest quality foot protection in the world
Procs Medical is a young, dynamic MedTech start-up that improves the lives of diabetic patients with neuropathy by offering them the world’s best silicone foot protection. Unlike standard inserts and orthopedic shoes, our unique 3D foot-covering silicone prostheses offer unique pressure distribution, are skin-friendly and prevent foot rubbing.
There are currently 1.2 million diabetes patients in the Netherlands, increasing with 1,000 diabetic patients per week! Of the Dutch population suffering from diabetes, 300,000 patients develop neuropathy, of which 30,000 patients (2,5% of diabetic patients) actually develop foot problems. Current methods do not protect the whole foot or are uncomfortable. This can result in foot wounds, and ultimately the amputation of toes, feet or lower limbs.
With our total foot-covering silicone prosthesis – that are compatible with regular looking and semi-orthopedic shoes – we created a solution that prevents further amputations. And for those diabetic patients, that already lost one or more toes, our 3D manufactured prosthesis will improve their quality of life.
In 2020 we received financial support of the province of Noord-Holland to help the world.
The 3D foot scanning process is based on augmented reality, offering patients a first-class experience and simplifying the execution of the scan.
Thanks to advanced computer algorithms, the custom treatment process – founded on decades of professional and medical experience – can be refined, automated, and is scalable.
Aided by a worldwide 3D additive network, this product can be rapidly mass manufactured.
The custom silicone design means that pressure is uniquely distributed over the surface of the foot, fully protecting users and allowing them to walk pain-free back into their lives.
Building on the team’s experience in the treatment of diabetic foot complications and 3D printing, we spent the past year conducting the necessary research and development, and are now ready for the next phase. We now want to scale and bring the product to market, as part of our mission to help all patients suffering peripheral neuropathy and amputations.
